HLCA has rules that are expected to be obeyed. “But all things must be done properly and in an orderly manner.” (1 Corinthians 14:40) Rules are to teach children discipline and order. The enforcing of the rules is intended to help the students to learn to respect authority and to see the need to make personal improvements. “Therefore the Law has become our tutor to lead us to Christ, so that we may be justified by faith.” (Galatians 3:24)

HLCA wants the students to follow God by being distinctly different from the world. “To make a distinction between the holy and the profane.” (Leviticus 10:10) Our students are asked to observe certain standards or dress, music, and associations, so that they will be associated with the things of God no matter where they are. The students are asked to be careful about the music they listen to. For that reason they are encourage to listen to Harbour Light of the Windwards which is a good source for good music. Students at HLCA are not permitted to attend Parang, Carnival, Regatta, or similar style parties “Like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior.” (1 Peter 1:15)
